Project Brief:

The goals for the expansion of the hotel and convention center at the Swinomish Lodge were to continue the flow of the Pacific Northwest theme from the existing spaces while creating an inviting, hospitable, and relaxing setting for their guests. The design team selected natural textures and colors that are complimented by bolder accents to create the desired environment. A concurrent nautical theme is reflected in the design of the custom carpet in the public spaces as evidenced by the blue/green tones and the “wave” patterns. Milliken was brought into the project when the manufacturer of the originally specified material could not deliver their product within the required time constraints, which would ultimately lead to a delay in the opening of the facility. Milliken stepped up in fine fashion, supplying custom strike-offs and producing 4,000sy of custom broadloom material in a relatively short time frame compared to the time required for predecessor design activities and manufacturing that are generally associated with this type of product. Milliken’s ability to meet the challenging parameters set forth on this project allowed the facility to open as scheduled
