B'nai B'rith Hillel Foundation at U.W.
Seattle, WA
Architect/Designer:
Miller Hull and Margaret Sprug
Project Description:
Creating a "home away from home" for Jewish students attending the University of Washington was the primary goal for the new Hillel Center at UW. Spaces for worship, dining, student lounge, offices, library, and study areas including teaching garden areas for reflection were included in the 20,000 square foot facility. Special attention was paid to proportion a modern esthetic with the character of the historic buildings that make up UW's Fraternity Row.
